Natasha McCosh

Head Teacher

natasha Natasha has been a teacher since 2002 and has worked with children of all ages. Her passion is with preschool children and encouraging them to work to their full potential in discovering who they are and what they enjoy. She believes that we are here to prepare children for life and that every day is a special occasion and should be treated as such. Care and love are paramount in early childhood and children need to feel that they are loved before they will fully engage in their learning. We are lucky enough to live in a country that encourages and accepts diversity and Natasha really strives for this within Iqra Educare. We want to create a setting where children are proud of who they are and know where they come from. A strong sense of identity is the aim for all children and families within our centre. Natasha is married with two school aged children.

Sophia Assalamu alaikum and Kia Ora to you all.
I am privileged to be a full time teacher at Iqra Educare, Waikato’s first Islamic kindergarten. Originally from Fiji Islands, my family and I immigrated to New Zealand 5 years ago. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in English and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education along with a Certificate in Counselling and Guidance from The University of the South Pacific in Fiji. I have taught in secondary schools in Fiji for fifteen years.
I became passionate about Early Childhood when I started relieving in Early Childhood Centres in 2010. The infinite curiosity, inexplicable innocence and non-judgemental nature of children fascinated me immensely. Therefore I furthered my education in Early Childhood and attained a Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education in 2011 from The University of Waikato.
Passionate about children, I enjoy getting to know the children and their families on a professional and personal level. In other words I thrive in the concept of whanaungatanga, which means relationships, kinship and a sense of family as conveyed in this beautiful whakatauki:
Waiho I te toipoto, kaua I te toiroa.
Let us keep close together, not wide apart.

leena My name is Leena and I am a mother of two preschoolers. I believe preschool children learn best through play and i love incorporating early learning concepts in my every day teaching. I am delighted to be a part of Iqra educare and to share my skills and learn alongside the children.
